Mr Mandla A. Mthembu
Mr Mandla A. Mthembu holds a MA degree from Kent University in the U.K and BA, BA Hons from the University of KZN. S.A. and EASL from Canterbury Christ-Church University, UK. He is currently the Director of Operations, Policy, Stakeholder and Government Relations at the Accelerated Education Enterprises (AEE). He is a former Senior Policy Manager at the Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa (ISASA) and former Senior Manager of Qualification, Curriculum and Certification at UMALUSI Quality Council. Appointed by the Minister of Higher Education and Training, he currently serve as a Board Member of the ETDP SETA and in several sub-committees of the Board. He is also a member of Fundisa Isizwe Trust Board of Trustees. Over the past 25 years of his career he has served on various Boards, and has been a Director of a number of NGOs. He is a former Research Fellow and Lecturer at the University of KwaZulu Natal (UKZN). He is also a former Chairperson of the Interim ABET Advisory Board (IAAB) which advised the late Minister of Education, Prof Kader Asmal and gave direction to ABET Policy and Implementation in South Africa. His major interests include policy research and implementation, Curriculum Development, Personalised System of Instruction (PSI), Online Learning, Skills Development, Organisational Development with a focus on School leadership and management, and Christian doctrine.
